"A Right Delayed is a right Denied"

-Martin Luther King

Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10th December. This year Human Rights Day marks the 70th anniversary of the universal declaration of Human Rights, a milestone Document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a Human Being regardless of colour, status, religion, language, birth or other status. Human Rights Day marks adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

The Theme for 2020 is - 'Recover better - Stand up for Human Rights.'

This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts. 10 December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the world we want, the need for global solidarity as well as our interconnectedness and shared humanity.
