Love the Person

Team Atverts wishes each and every single person a very happy Valentine’s Day! Remember, this day is not just about two lovers only, it’s about anyone who loves anyone with all their heart!
They were good friends, but their friendship did not take much time to change into love. To the world, they were still best friends, as they didn’t want to reveal much. Time passed and from their first year of college, they stepped into their last year. This was the time to take decisions about their remaining life. At the end of the year, one passed out and one did not. This was their turning point of love more than life. The girl got a job very soon with her rankings, while the boy continued his yet again another last year of his college. Less because of family pressure and more because that the boy did not have a protective future, she came to a conclusion. It was 14th February. She called him to the nearest café. The boy who had thought that she would be doing something special for him, brought a bouquet of roses and stepped inside the café.
“I just wanted to have a word with you” started the girl after they both seated themselves.
“yes, even I brought something for you” said the boy hiding the bouquet of roses.
“Yes, so I got an offer from my office.”
“Oh, great! What is that offer, by the way?”
“Umm, so…. I am leaving for America tomorrow and I won’t be coming back and-”
“What!” interrupted the boy quickly.
“And I will be getting married soon there.”
There was a minute of pause and the boy started- “And, what about our love?”
“Love? Have you thought ever about our future?”
“Future? What do you mean by that?”
Without any more word, the girl left from there……...

After few years- “Sir, all of a sudden, its difficult for me to move to India.”
“But you have to, it’s an official emergency.”
“Hmmm. I understand but…ah…ok Sir.”
*****************************
She stepped in India after five long years.
It was Monday and her first day, she hurried for her office. She had to receive her id card from the manager, her boss.
“May I come in, Sir?”
“Yes, you may.”
She stepped inside and stood their electrified.
There was a silence for few minutes and they both went in their flashback. It was that same boy with whom she had broken up 5 years ago just because his failure in the last year of their college but who now stood there as her boss.
“I am sorry” started the girl.
“No, you should not be. Here, take it, work well, have a good day ahead.” He handed her the id card.
She left from there with a sort of guilty feeling.
You should never love a person’s success, but the person itself.
