Immobilizing pain of losing the loved one

As the old man was walking towards the garden, he got immobilized by the beauty of nature; it seemed as the flowers appearing red due to the sunset and the petals seems like hugging each other as if going for a sleep; birds chirping back to their nest with a nice breeze blowing. Everything being so life full apart from the duo who were still and calm.
All this fascination came to a halt when he realized the maps of wrinkles on his face guiding to the scar he got during one of his heroics for the nation. His forehead told the stories of the past and worries of the future. But, mostly engrained so deep inside his small eyes with a comparable nose and a beautiful smile which always mirage everyone with affection bluffing his emotions.
The flowers reminded him of the young ones who once blossomed in front of him and embellished his journey, the chirping birds reminding him of the chirps of them playing in the garden.
Lastly, the blowing wind made him realized the acceptance to cherish the memories.
Though at this instant the old man couldn't keep up with it, the expression on his face was clearly of pain, born out of losing his loved ones.
