International Day of Sign Languages

International Day of Sign Languages
There are approximately 72 million deaf people around the world. Interestingly, International Day of Sign languages is celebrated to appreciate all these sign languages. It's celebrated to make those people realize that we don't mind their difference, we care about them & we respect them and also their differences. On this day awareness is raised throughout the world to respect & be polite towards the deaf people. People on this day try to speak & convey their feelings through sign languages thereby not only respecting the deaf people and their difference but also learning to respect one's own mother tongue.
Sign languages are the unique languages that convey meaning visually. It isn't clear how many of these languages exist around the world. Generally, each country has its own native sign language. In fact, some countries have more than one. One of the earliest written records of a sign language was in Plato’s Cratylus, from 15th century BC. The sign languages used earlier were probably called manual alphabets (meaning finger alphabets) which was developed by Pedro Ponce de Leon.
So, let us all on this day celebrate our respect for all the disabled people of our society, maybe they are different, but that doesn't really matter. THEY ARE ONE OF US & WE MUST LET THEM FEEL THAT...
