Hello everyone!!!! Today I am going to tell you all a story but what's it about however will remain a secret....

So let's see:

A long time ago in Mathura, there was a king called "Kansa" who was infamous for his greed and unfair rule.

After the marriage of his sister Devaki the Gods from heaven announced :

"Kansa, your tyranny is going to come to an end, the eighth son born to Devaki and Vasudeva will kill you, be ready"

This really made Kansa furious and he imprisoned the newly - wed couple in prison.

Kansa went on to kill seven of Devaki and Vasudeva’s children.

When she gave birth to her eighth child the God's voice returned and said to Devaki and Vasudeva:

"Take the child across the river Yamuna to Gokul and exchange your baby with that of your friend Nand and Yashoda's newly born daughter"

Vasudeva looked down to realize his hands had been unchained. He quickly picked up the child, put him in a basket and arrived at the gates to find the guards were fast asleep.

As he crossed the stormy water with the basket on his head he saw the water never rose above his shoulders.

When he struggled to stop the child from getting wet in the rain, a ten headed snake appeared to protect the child from the pouring rain.

Vasudeva by now had realized that his child indeed was a divine being.

When he finally arrived at Nand's house he quickly exchanged his child with that of Nand and Yashoda's, and returned to the prison.

When Kansa arrived and tried to kill the child, it took the form of Goddess Durga and said "The eighth child who is going to kill you is still alive"

The child Krishna was raised by Nand and Yashoda's and went on to kill Kansa.

I hope now you have successfully realized what this is all about. Yes you are right, this is the story of Janmastami and this is why we celebrate the birth of Krishna as Janmastami across India. It reminds us as how "Good wins over Evil"

Bye!!!

And, have a great day ahead!!!!

Also, don't forget to tell this story to all your family members....

Enjoy!!!
