Team Atverts wishes

a very happy birthday! May she continue to inspire us with her work like she has done so from the very beginning.

||An Open Letter to Neerja.||

Dear Neerja,

In the words of Marcus Zusak , from the book' The book thief' the narrator i. e DEATH narrates - '' That's the sort of thing I'll never know, or comprehend - what humans are capable of ''. I wondered that death remarked those words knitted in a formidable character only after he met you. Death started feeling the deluge of kindness across its heart when it wrapped you in its embittered embrace. I hope my letter finds you in best spirits. I am sure that you were chilling up with Rajesh khanna in his romantic oldies and singing 'Sapno ki Raani' to the angel next - door

Neerja, you were cheerful and always happy-go-lucky . You are just the run - of - the mill daughter of a loving dad who calls her dad in a distressing situation and conceals her brokenness under the fear of dissociating herself from an almost destructive alliance.

The word 'bravery' comes with a hazy picture of soldiers armed with guns and bullets and streaked in redness but you redefine it. You add a new intonation and colour to the almost patriarchal inclination of this term. You were scared. Fear clenched you in its fist but you broke it off into molecules of strength, heroism and kindness. I can't stop thinking that how many noble qualities you cook in your fist - sized- heart and how many more mountains you had wished to move. You shielded the hearts of three innocent lives and floated them towards their shelters thereby, slipping your heart in the terrible palm of muted darkness.

You were fresh like the potted flowers in the window base , adding a fragrance of almost silent petrichor and violet lavender in the air. You proved that a tragic incident in life doesn't mean the ending of living life so you accepted love when it arrived at your doorstep the next time. You showed that withdrawals and insecurities doesn't erase the beauty of a happy living. The constant enthisusiam you carry is almost intoxicating and yours fears get brushed under your charming smile.

When you stepped in the heaven on your 23rd birthday, I hope Rajesh Khanna would've asked you just then - '' Bahadur Baccha Kaun hai? '' (Just like your dad did to encourage you) to which you've replied '' Babumosai...... zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi''.

In writing you this letter, I realise that I shall take packets of courage, bravery and kindness to my grave and my tombstone finds enough pride to tell the people mourning my death, that

''Pushpa..... I hate tears''

Yours Lovingly,

Indrakshi
