We need to talk before it's too late

At Pen:

On International Suicide Prevention Day.

And finally after 16hours of journey she was able to reach her son's flat in the new city. She rang the bell. His flatmate opened the door and greeted her. When asked about Risav, his flatmate replied that he went to buy something. She went inside her son's room and sat down to cool herself with a glass of water. She gave a box full of "motichur ke laddu" to his flatmate. With a happy face, he went inside his room. The last time she came here before the pandemic, everything was totally unorganized. And it is the same, this time as well. "When will this guy grow up?" , she thought to herself and started organizing his stuff. And, suddenly she saw a letter on his study table. The letter is still open on his desk under his book. The letter was a very short note. It read, "Ma, I cannot thank you enough for whatever you have done to me in all these 21 years of my life. Take care of Riya, she is just 16 years old, please don't destroy her life as well. She loves to dance and want to pursue a career in it too. I love to play guitar, and I wanted to become a guitarist. You did not even let me bring my guitar while shifting to this new city. But, I could never tell you about this. Please don't make her another Risav, who failed in life and ended everything. And please don't forget to take your medicines on time. I cannot fulfill Baba's dream of becoming a doctor. I failed. Love you, from your Babai". She finished reading the letter and saw her Babai, her own son in front of her with a rope in one hand and a phenyl's bottle in another. He is shocked and cannot utter a single word. She threw the letter and hugged her son and started crying. "Why didn't you tell us earlier that you want to pursue a career in music and don't want to continue with MBBS? You could have atleast told us once before taking this huge step? We are your family members, your parents.....we never want anything bad for you!"

-A life was saved. It is okay to talk with someone, may it your family member or a friend. And if it is serious, even talking with a counsellor is absolutely fine.
