What is Love?

What is love? This question haunts the human psyche perhaps more persistently than any other. I think throughout our life we keep finding the answer to this in everything we see or feel, be it different humans or objects.. quite literally everything.
The term 'love', I feel, is the most over used word in the world.
'I love him'
'I love myself'
'I love food'
'I love flowers'
We tend to use the term love with literally everything we adore or want to stay with us for life, everything that makes us happy.
So can we consider 'love' to be another word for happiness?
Then why is it that people tend to say 'love will break your heart'.. I believe it's never the love that makes you sad but the lover.
But is it only the lover that causes the heart break or separation of two lovers from the bond named love?
Society and minds of others effect them too? Why can't an older man love a younger woman? Why can't a girl love another girl? Why can't a man embrace another man without feeling embarrassed? WHY?
Love is not meant to be bounded by others’ thoughts, ideologies, stereotypes.. it's only to be bounded in arms of two lovers as they embrace each other to express themselves.
Stop hurting people in love, every woman and every man is allowed to choose the love they want. Love is freedom not barriers of your perspectives. Love is union of two souls where gender doesn't matter.
Love more and let love breathe. Let love bloom in every form, in every gender, in every bonding. Believe in love, cause love is complex when you put restrictions on it and simple when you embrace it. It can make you feel less alone and more whole when you understand it, it makes your perspectives filled with more richness, color and dimension than anything else can.
Find love when you find peace, in a man, in a woman, in yourself.. in anything.
And don’t forget to never stop loving.
